For some time now my post-processing tool of choice has been Affinity Photo. I find it much more intuative and easier to use than (say) Photoshop with a wealth of information available on the web, especially YouTube. The price is great too!
The recent update in version 1.9.x brings the Astrophography Stack feature or Persona along with other astro related functions.
This means that you can now stack and process your astro images right inside Affinity Photo.
It is also worth noting here that it is much easier to stack the calibration frames with only a handful of basic options to set, but they are very powerful - giving you enough control without all the complication.
I have used my Horsehead Nebula data here as my re-processing dataset.
