Well I seem to have turned a huge corner with the processing and exorcised the noise gremlins. This is in no small part thanks to AstroStace - find her on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and at https://www.astrostace.com/ and also to the purchase of Affinity Photo.
It was the old signal-to-noise chesnut and the fact that more data is key to having a (much) less noisy image.
Affinity Photo is the new kid on the image processing block and a real viable alternative to PhotoShop (£25 at time of writing) and has been featured in Astronomy Now over the last few months being put through it's paces by Mr Nik Szymanek.
I have reprocessed my data of the Rosette Nebula taken in late March and here it is.
Clear skies, MJ.
